haslam design has four stages to the development of a website. Normally each stage has to be complete and signed off by the client before the next stage is begun.

Understand
After the terms of engagement document has been agreed haslam design will start  a scoping and planning phase asking the questions, why, who, how and when. The output of this stage is a a Digital Action Plan (DAP) . This document acts as the blue prints for the project. It outlines the design brief, the proposed sitemap, audience profile, techical solution the timescales and  the cost, . Once signed off, and haslam design is confident they know enough about the business and the website requirements, the stage is complete.

Design
The second stage is the creative / design stage.  This process puts the user at the cetre of the design, we will review the information architecture of the site, how the content will flow and the user will access information. The output at this stage will be:

• navigation design and construct
• look and feel of the user interface
• page templates

After feedback a second set of designs will be submitted. After a second round of alterations the design should be complete and signed off by the client.

Build
This is the technical stage. The website is built using what ever technology has been chosen in the DAP. This can range from Joomla content managed sites to Magento ecommerce solutions to .NET applications.

A dedicated team of developers will work on the site ensure best practice solutions are adhered to and accessibility and useability are key factors.

Test
As part of final delivery each site will be tested by the team as well as the client. Only when a site has passed this will it be set live. in addition of the contract haslam design sites will be bug fixed and browser checked for 3 months. After that a maintenance contract should be bought if required.
